I've been searching the Expat Advisory website for potential rentals in Phnom Penh. The prices, by American standards, are very reasonable, considering that rent includes a cleaner (three times a week) and, sometimes, security. But, most of the rentals listed: (1) have no pictures attached; (2) are only for openings one month in advance; and (3) aren't too descriptive when it comes to the surrounding areas.
And, how reliable is it to put a deposit on a flat before I get there? In other words, what legal recourse do I have if the person runs off with my money?
I'm hoping this will all be sorted out in some way.
